Thinking!
Thinking is the result of perception.
If I have wrong perception, my thinking will be distorted. Therefore, I need to make an effort and persevere to always have correct perception.
Our perception is creating thoughts.
Perception is achieved through wisdom and awareness.
When we look at any phenomenon, how will we perceive that phenomenon? What will we see? Most of us only see that phenomenon like icebergs. We only see the tip of the iceberg, but we must realize that the submerged part is deep under the water.
Therefore, I need to learn to look deeply into phenomena. For example, I am watching a bird perched in the garden, instead of seeing it as beautiful, it chirping naturally, it flying freely, blending into the sky. Then I need to observe more deeply, look at its eyes, the way it glances back and forth, afraid of attacks from other animals, the way it searches for food for its hungry children at home. The way it survives.
We need to have wisdom to have a deep perspective, a correct perception, to understand correctly and think correctly, and then act correctly.
All of our thoughts are seen from the perspective of the “I” in Buddhism called Ego. We all cling to the ego. Like in the story of the Blind Men and the Elephant, all the blind men look from the perspective: “according to me, the elephant is…”. And because we are human, we have Ego, otherwise we would be in heaven.
So I have to start studying and practicing right now. You can’t just sit in one place and suddenly become wise and clear-minded, that day will never come.
Finally, Thought is one of the doors through which I will create my Karma.
