Karma
One day I will leave the world behind. So live a life that I will remember forever.
Everyone will die. So when I die, what can I take with me?
That is Karma. That is what I will take with me.
Everything else is borrowed. Everything else will be inherited by my descendants. Only Karma is mine.
Nothing happens by chance in this universe. From the earth, the moon, the sun and the planets. They all operate in their orbits. Everything follows laws. And Karma is the same.
Karma is Cause and Effect, that is the law of Karma.
Sow Karma.
Good Karma.
There are three doors for me to create my Karma: actions, words, thoughts (Buddhism calls Body-Speech-Mind). These are the three doors for us to contact the outside world.
Thinking: According to research by scientists, on average we have more than 6000 thoughts per day. (https://www.queensu.ca/gazette/stories/discovery-thought-worms-opens-window-mind). Divide the number of minutes per day into 6000/1440 and we will have more than 4 thoughts per minute. About every 15 seconds a thought will appear. Therefore we need to guard this gateway every second and minute. When a bad thought arises, we need to be Aware of it, and do not let it turn into Speech-Body (words and actions)
Every moment of thinking is every moment of creating Karma. Therefore, creating Good Karma or Bad Karma is my choice. Those are moments of Choice. I need to have wise and intelligent choices to create many good opportunities for myself. Therefore I need to learn and practice living every moment. That is Mindfulness.
Choice: when we have good Karma, it will create circumstances and opportunities for us. It will not create immediate results but it will give us conditions and opportunities. And whether to Do or not to Do, to grasp or not is our choice.
Through Choice I will create my own destiny. I am the master of my Karma!
